Description

Description

Plant Type: Indoor Houseplant

Light Requirement: Very bright light and can even handle small doses of sun during the day.

Water Requirement: Because it’s a (semi) succulent, it’s important to prevent overwatering. During the growing season (Spring, Summer, early Fall) when the plant is producing new leaves and maybe even a few flowers, you can water it when the soil is mostly dry. During the dormant season, the plant can completely dry between waterings.

Fertilizer Requirement: Feed monthly with a half-strength of a liquid fertilizer during the growing season.

Container Size: 1″ starter plant, *Terra Cotta pot in photo display sold separately

Bloom Season: Magenta blooms in Spring, Summer, and Fall if in ideal growing conditions and lightly fertilized.

Plant Growth: Trailing.

Plant Color: Variegated: Green/White

Suggested Uses: Indoor containers and hanging baskets

USDA Hardiness Zone: Find Your Zone
9, 10, 11, 12

Special Characteristics:

  • Commonly known as String of Hearts and Rosary Vine.
  • Stores water in its leaves, so a good watering indicator to watch for is the leaves beginning to look a little deflated. Let the soil dry well between waterings.
  • Lightly fertilize during the growing season to promote magenta-colored blooms.
  • Skill Level: Intermediate

Ramona, the Peperomia puteolata (Parallel Peperomia)

1" STARTER PLANT *Terracotta pot in photo sold separately. Meet Ramona. She hits the personality sweet spot...neither too trendy nor too eccentric. Semi-succulent, so go easy on the water and give her bright light (but not direct sun).

In a take-charge way, she'll let you know when it's time to water again by deflating her pearls a bit and looking less than succulent. So pay attention because overwatering is the quickest way to say goodbye to this beauty.
