Recomended: Reliable garden performer providing a symphony of lovely lilac flowers. Named for Alan BloomÂ’s favorite composer. Lilac flowers from midsummer to early fall. Sturdy foliage on stiff, erect stems. Superb cut flower for back of border plantings. Nice in mass plantings. Fragrant. Attracts butterflies.

Culture: Best in rich, well-drained acidic soils. Plant in an area of the garden which has good air movement. Keep well-watered and fertilized in summer for best flowering. Remove faded flower heads to extend blooming. Divide in spring or fall every 3 to 4 years.
